WAVEYA is a dance group from South Korea, consisting of two sisters. The elder sister is nicknamed Ari but her real name is Jang Eun Young. The younger sister is referred to as MiU, and her real name is Jang You Sun. They began their dance troupe over a decade ago. The group has seen several changes over the years. In 2006, the group began uploading videos of their dance routines to the Korean portal website. Waveya became popular when they launched their YouTube channel which has grown to over 3.5 million users since its creation in 2011. In their videos, Waveya either perform dance covers of different K-Pop, American or Brazilian artists as well as their own original choreography.
There have been several modifications to the group’s lineup since the group’s formation. Waveya’s popularity rose following the release of a YouTube video in which they danced along to Psy’s Gangnam Style. Waveya has also made YouTube videos, performed concerts as well as appeared in commercials then. Waveya has performed live in many countries, including the United States, Korea, Indonesia, Canada and France.
